Premiere in Berlin with Annika Büsing and Miriam Zeh

Magisch is back. Of course, in the house behind the pea-cob wall; of course, with a job that isn’t entirely legal; of course, in the midst of the shimmering heat of late summer. And everything feels just like it did in their heyday, when Marie and Magisch first became close friends and then first loves. More than fifteen years have passed, and now they’re sitting down by the dirt road near the horse paddock, in the shade of the bushes, drinking Fanta-Korn as if they’d never been away. But Andi, Marie’s brother, is still there too - he never actually left - and he’s now in the party and still dangerous. When Magisch is threatened, the time has come for Marie to reexamine the issue of the firewall within her own family.

Annika Büsing (born 1981) lives with her family in Bochum and teaches at a high school. In 2022, she won the German Youth Literature Prize, the Ruhr Literature Prize, and the Mara Cassens Prize for her acclaimed debut, "Nordstadt". Her third novel, "Wir kommen zurecht", was published in the spring of 2025.

Miriam Zeh, born in Hamburg in 1988, works as a literary editor at Deutschlandfunk Kultur. She studied music, German language and literature, and philosophy in Cologne and St. Louis. In 2021, she earned her doctorate from Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
