With the unique final movement of his 9th Symphony, Ludwig van Beethoven set a powerful example for peace and brotherhood. Together with the Berliner Konzert Chor, Symphonia Berlin invites you to experience this masterpiece anew and experience its message of international understanding directly.

Igor Budinstein, an internationally sought-after conductor renowned for his sensitive and energetic interpretations, will be conducting. The performance first unfolds the colorful sonic diversity of the orchestra in the three opening movements, before the choir and soloists unite in the fourth movement and the "Ode to Joy" blossoms in full radiance.

Beethoven's lifelong fascination with Schiller's poem "Ode to Joy" reached its culmination here: he had already considered setting it to music ten years earlier, and in his last symphony, he finally realized this dream. Premiered in Vienna in 1824, the work became a key musical work – and later the anthem of the European Union.
