Johann Sebastian Bach: Concertos for Harpsichord and Strings

Like many Baroque composers, Johann Sebastian Bach was not afraid to continually adapt his works to contemporary performance practice. In the 1730s, he transposed numerous of his solo concertos for the then-new solo instrument, the harpsichord, creating groundbreaking arrangements.

Kristian Bezuidenhout presents a selection of these concertos in chamber music settings and also performs a harpsichord version of the famous Chaconne in D minor – a work that, like few others, has repeatedly inspired new arrangements.
