Works by Johann Sebastian Bach

“I had much sorrow”—Johann Sebastian Bach composed this cantata over 300 years ago.

These musical expressions of human lamentations, fears, and suffering—people’s search for answers, their hope for help and healing for their wounded souls and the world—are as relevant today as ever.

Under the direction of Stefan Kircheis, the Kaulsdorf Choir and the “Camerata Instrumentale” orchestra will perform the cantata as well as excerpts from Bach’s Suite No. 3, including the famous “Air,” and the Sinfonia for organ and orchestra from the cantata “Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen.”

The soloists are Julia Hedtfeld (soprano), Joohoon Shin (tenor), Bert Mario Temme (bass), and Christina Hanke-Bleidorn (organ).

The exhibition “Die Vermessung des Augenblicks” by Friedrich Porsdorf will be on view during the concert.
