However, with a duration of about 45 minutes, the "Lobgesang" contains so much substance and independent power that a separate
performance is more than worthwhile.
In terms of musical quality and immediate impact on the audience, the "Lobgesang" is in no way inferior to Mendelssohn’s oratorios.
In addition to the "Lobgesang," other smaller, deeply moving works by the composer will be performed, including "Verleih uns Frieden" and the well-known cantata "Hör mein Bitten," both in orchestral versions by Matthias Elger
