Karina Griffith is Guest Professor of Intersectional Visual and Media Theory at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) through the Berlin Program for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching (BCP). She recently completed her dissertation, Flânoirie: The Moving Images of Black
German Cinemas at the University of Toronto’s Cinema Studies Institute. Griffith is part of the curatorial team of the Berlinale Forum Expanded. Griffith’s films, installations and performances which question archives and conditions of spectatorship, have been shown at international galleries and festivals. In 2025 she was selected for the Vila Sul residency in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
