On International Museum Day
On display are approximately 15,000 objects that were invented, designed, produced, traded, purchased, used, repaired, and discarded from the 20th century to the present. Their sheer volume and diversity allow for an exploration of questions regarding the nature of objects, the relationship between humans and objects, and the materiality of everyday life.
The Werkbund Archive – Museum of Things critically examines the Werkbund’s strategies and the product culture of modernism, viewing them against the backdrop of a globalized world and major social and ecological transformations.
In celebration of International Museum Day on May 17, admission to the museum and participation in the guided tour are free.
