ELSA—that’s the four-piece band led by singer-songwriter Elsa Steixner.
Raised in an artistic household in Vienna, she is characterized by an openness that is also reflected in her music.
“Her distinctive voice clings to your ears from the very first encounter with her songs. She creates an immediate sense of trust; indeed, she hypnotizes you so completely that you can’t help but listen to her stories.”
(Samir H. Köck, Die Presse)
With their second album, JUMP!, the band takes a leap into new sonic worlds. The album features songs that oscillate between catchiness and mystery, between intuition and musical finesse.
On stage, the extraordinary chemistry between the four musicians becomes palpable. The deep trust they share creates space for freedom, genuine vulnerability, and… mischief!
With an incredible sensitivity for dynamics, they stretch out songs, challenge, even provoke—almost through deliberate silence—before making it clear with unexpected power and urgency: This is a band that means business.
With several awards, a nomination for the Austrian Amadeus Music Awards (AT), the Audience Award at the Avignon Jazz Festival (FR), and a selection for the largest Dutch showcase festival, Popronde (NL), ELSA has established a strong international presence and tours regularly throughout Europe.
In 2025, the band performed concerts at renowned venues such as Porgy & Bess in Vienna, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and as part of the Vienna Festival, as well as recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London.
