Music, conversation with eyewitnesses, 65th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s construction, hosted by Petra Gute

What significance did freedom, art, and personal expression hold in the GDR? How could music become a form of dissent?

Singer-songwriter and civil rights activist Stephan Krawczyk will perform a selection of his songs at the Brandenburg Gate. Before the musical performances, he will speak with host Petra Gute about his life as an artist in the GDR, state repression, and his commitment to freedom and human rights.

The event is part of the special program marking the 65th anniversary of the construction of the Berlin Wall.
