To kick off this year's concert series, five outstanding young musicians will perform. They founded their woodwind quintet at the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music High School in Berlin. The ensemble first performed in its current form in November 2024 in the Apollo Hall of the Berlin State Opera. This was followed last year by further concerts in Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as a second prize in the school's Dussmann Competition in the chamber music category.
The Apollo Quintet's repertoire ranges from the genre's beginnings with Franz Danzi and Anton Reicha to 20th-century works by composers such as Paul Hindemith and György Ligeti.
Performers: Ildikó Wollenweber (flute), Lisanne Armbruster (oboe), Birte Weigelt (clarinet), Yahli Cohen (horn), and Lukas Strietzel (bassoon)
