Kunstraum Heartspace Anniversary Exhibition
For the anniversary exhibition at Kunstraum Heartspace, artists from various disciplines were invited to explore the theme of (physical) diffraction and interference.
Heartspace Art Space is a space of connection—a space where each individual’s creativity can interact with that of others, and a space that invites everyone to become part of this connection.
The theme of the group exhibition is inspired by the physical phenomenon of interference:
When waves encounter an obstacle, they bend around it.
This applies to all types of waves—whether water waves, sound waves, or light waves.
Once the waves have passed the obstacle, they combine behind it and interfere with one another—either constructively or destructively.
Connections do not always form seamlessly. Viewed from the perspective of the physical phenomenon of diffraction, obstacles prove to be a necessary component for interference and (re)connection.
Connections can teach people something about the different aspects of their selves that may still be separated from one another and are only made visible through obstacles.
And: Diffraction is an absolutely necessary process for them to perceive the manifold colors of life—both in a figurative and in a literal, physical sense.
A year has passed, and the once-newly-born art space Heartspace is now entering adulthood. This transition, too, is not without obstacles—yet the past year has borne witness to a strong art community that makes Heartspace a place for genuine connections.
