The Blue Stones' rousing blues rock, full of incisive riffs and exuberant hooklines, lies somewhere between the White Stripes and the Black Keys. Their new album "Pretty Monster" was recently released. And on this record, what belongs together comes together.
The Blue Stones
"Black Holes" (Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year) shows their scratchy and raw side, the follow-up "Hidden Gems" (Juno Award nomination for Rock Album of the Year) shows the atmospheric new styles to bring it all together on the latest record and make it a full sounding sound machine.
On stage, The Blue Stones make a sound that two people alone can't really make with this intensity. And they always manage to generate this power in the studio as well, while at the same time taking their songwriting to new heights.
Here the raw power of rock'n'roll is combined with a gravelly blues rock, grumbling pop interludes and sprinkled charming details that it just thunders in the boxes.
In spring they will come to Berlin for a show as part of their German tour.
