German Film Orchestra Babelsberg & the Selke Brothers: Cello & Synthesizer
Three concerts in the historic ballroom will set the stage for the palace’s special openings from August through October, featuring guided tours that explore fascinating and previously overlooked stories from the palace’s history.
At this concert in the series, you can look forward to works for cello and synthesizer—both in their original versions and as arrangements—performed by the deputy principal cellist of the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and his brother, a pianist who will become the director of the Singakademie Potsdam starting in the fall of 2026.
Having grown up in an East Berlin prefab apartment building, the “Selke Brothers” developed their passion for film and music at an early age. Today, their own compositions can be heard in international productions, and this evening they will be featured in dialogue with cinematic classics.
Performers: Cello and synthesizer from the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg and Brueder Selke
A concert series presented by the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg in cooperation with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.
