On 19 March at 7 p.m., the Aambulanz collective will open the exhibition Everybody knows at the trendy SMAC art space in Berlin-Mitte.
The collective has developed a walk-in installation especially for this exhibition.
In light of war in Europe, ecological tipping points and the rise of authoritarian structures, the collective has designed a sensual and radical utopia: a safe space in which painting becomes a source of strength. Between reality and fantasy, images emerge that make vulnerability visible and show healing as a conceivable possibility. The Aambulanz collective consists of artists Michel Castaignet, Kathrin Landa, Florence Obrecht, Axel Pahlavi, Alexej Tchernyi, Alex Tennigkeit and Wu Zhi. Founded during the pandemic, the collective understands the crisis not as an exception, but as the current state of affairs. In their exhibition, they invite viewers to think beyond individual and collective wounds, to take on new perspectives and to experience artistic utopia as a concrete practice of transformation and resilience.
