In 2026, the Jewish Community of Berlin will once again showcase the diversity of Jewish culture and cuisine.

The event kicks off with the 5th Kosher Street Food Festival, followed by the 39th Berlin Jewish Culture Days in November, which offer Berliners and their guests a multifaceted glimpse into Jewish life.

Avi Toubiana, Artistic Director, and Sara Nachama, Head of Cultural Affairs at the Jewish Community of Berlin, on the festivals: “The motto of the 39th Jewish Culture Days is: ‘Zaddikim – Time for the Righteous.’ Zaddikim is the Hebrew word for the 36 Righteous. In the Talmud, they appear as people without status, without a voice or public recognition—and yet with a decisive impact: they keep the world in balance. However, their actions remain hidden, even from themselves. They are thus silent bearers of responsibility. Especially in today’s times, when we feel that the world seems to be falling apart, we need a functioning moral compass once again. The time of the Righteous has dawned once more.”

Dr. Gideon Joffe, Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Community of Berlin: “With our Culture Days in November, we showcase the diversity of Jewish culture and invite all Berliners to rediscover it this year as well. Our kosher street food festival in June will serve as a spectacular kickoff.”

5th Kosher Street Food Festival Berlin

New Synagogue (Courtyard) | Oranienburger Straße 28-31 | Berlin Mitte

Sunday, June 21, 2026 | starting at 11:00 a.m. | Admission is free

Visitor numbers and the culinary offerings are showing steady growth. More than 40 stalls offer diverse insights into Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine. “The kosher street food scene is constantly evolving,” says Toubiana. “Creative Israeli dishes that combine tradition with modern ideas are currently in demand—especially fusion cuisine, vegan options, and reinterpreted classics.”

Admission remains free, and the cultural program is diverse. Activities such as a marionette show, pantomime, acrobatics, a puppet show, and the animal-friendly petting zoo are aimed at young audiences. In addition, guests can enjoy a comedy show, a magical duo, a jazz band, calligraphy, a caricaturist, chess, an observation tower, the Hertha BSC mascot, as well as book and souvenir stands. Great prizes can once again be found in this year’s raffle prize pool.

An added incentive: Exclusive early-bird tickets for numerous events at this year’s Jewish Culture Days (November 12–22, 2026) are available on-site with a 20 percent discount.
