This program guides blind and visually impaired people through a special event day at the open-air museum focused on fabrics and clothing from a bygone era.

When textiles are created from natural raw materials using medieval methods, fingers can feel a lot and hands can grasp a variety of things. On this event day, educator Christine Rieger and a guide will introduce blind and visually impaired people to spinning, weaving, and dyeing.

There is much to discover: raw sheep’s wool, spun threads, woven fabric. Here, everything can be felt and smelled.

At a hands-on station, visitors of all ages can try their hand at working with flax, hemp, and wool on looms.

The rope-making workshop also invites you to get involved and give it a try. The result is a handmade rope.

Note: Please register by email to participate (limited space available).

To help you prepare for your visit, detailed information about accessibility at the open-air museum is available.
