The exhibition is located on three levels of the Schillingstraße and Weberwiese subway stations.


1. The exhibition takes visitors on a history walk to 24 selected locations along the avenue – the so-called anchor buildings. They are a key to understanding the development and uniqueness of Karl-Marx-Allee. The history walk offers information on the history, design, and use of the 24 anchor buildings.


2. On the intermediate level, the exhibition tells the story of the planning and construction of Karl-Marx-Allee and life on this street.


3. On the platform level, the exhibition presents photography. Through the artistic eye of contemporary photographers, the architecture on Karl-Marx-Allee appears in a new way.


The exhibition content is enhanced with QR codes and can be accessed via the website of the Berlin State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments.


Local associations also provide insights into their local cultural activities. This transforms the two subway stations along the U5 line into spaces for information and communication.


The exhibition's opening hours are based on those of the subway stations.
