Free and outdoors I Culture in the Neighbourhood – Market Stage 2026

To kick off the 2026 Market Stage season, visitors to Hermannplatz can look forward to a surprise performance alongside the usual musical highlights from international and local bands: the song “Wochenmarkt in Neukölln”, composed by Mathias Baresel (aka Herr Richneis) especially for Neukölln’s weekly markets, will be performed live for the first time.

The market stage will be officially opened at 1 pm with a welcome address by Janine Wolter, District Councillor for Education, Culture and Sport, together with market operator Nikolaus Fink and Spotlight Talent e.V.. Ms Wolter recognises the importance of open-air music: “For more than ten years, the market stage has transformed our Neukölln weekly markets around the Easter holidays into a meeting place and has allowed neighbourhood life on our streets to flourish once again.”

The market stage has become an integral part of Neukölln’s cultural life. It stands for ‘free and outdoors’, for ‘culture in the neighbourhood’, as well as for social interaction and community spirit. It is living proof that a weekly market is much more than just shopping in the open air.

Visitors to the weekly markets in Britz-Süd and Rudow, as well as on Wutzky Allee and Parchimer Allee, can once again look forward to the Easter Bunny and numerous other free events as part of the colourful market programme.
