Throughout her life, the world-famous physicist was exposed to psychological and intellectual tensions: as an Austrian in Prussia, as a woman in a male-dominated society, as a female researcher in the male-dominated natural sciences, and as a Jew in Nazi Germany.
Gerta Stecher's reading traces the path of a self-determined woman, which was as joyful as it was oppressive, and which she could not have taken without her musical upbringing and liberal parents.
