„Coming Home With Music“

With the promise of the inalienable rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, the basic idea of the “American Dream” is already rooted in the US Declaration of Independence of 1776.

How much utopian potential is there 250 years later in this often charged and abused dream of a society in which many individuals with different origins and backgrounds live together peacefully?

Reginald Mobley and the lautten compagney BERLIN recount the “American Dream” in their program “Coming Home With Music” as a dream of arrival.

Psalm settings, African-American spirituals, baroque arias and pop song arrangements reveal the longing for a home and a sense of belonging - in the family, in the country or in the kingdom of heaven.

  • Psalmen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, irische und schottische Balladen, Arien von Georg Friedrich Händel und afroamerikanische Gospels
