Duygu Ağal in conversation with Susana Abdul Majid In YEMINSIZLER (“The Vowless”), Duygu Ağal invites guests from her various circles to the Ballhaus Prinzenallee every other month—people who, especially through their art, repeatedly find themselves grappling with these agonizing questions. What they have in common is that, despite all odds, they have dedicated themselves to the mission of fighting for a genuine, loving alternative to loneliness. ‍

Susana Abdul Majid is an actress, author, and lecturer. In her work, ancient Mesopotamian myths resurface in the present—sometimes as Babylonian goddesses, sometimes as trash. Her texts revolve around archives, cities, and the question of what happens to stories when civilization manages or discards them. She has performed on numerous stages across Europe, including at the Schaubühne and NTGent under Milo Rau, as well as in films such as Jibril (Berlinale Panorama). AbdulMajid leads seminars on Arab identity and the diaspora at Freie Universität Berlin, helps organize the German-Arab Siyasa Congress, and has been working on the UNESCO project Revive the Spirit of Mosul since 2019. ‍
