Conclusion of the U16 election ahead of the 2026 Berlin House of Representatives elections
In the run-up to the 2026 Berlin House of Representatives elections, children and teens are invited to cast their votes in the U16 election from September 7 to 11. Schools, youth clubs, and organizations in the Lichtenberg district will be transformed into polling places, giving children and teens a firsthand experience of democracy.

Theater an der Parkaue
This year, the big U16 election party will take place at the Theater an der Parkaue. In addition to democracy market stalls and the Mobile Counseling Service Against Right-Wing Extremism, visitors can look forward to a diverse stage program: the Democracy Lounge, the karaoke show “Lichtenberg Seeks the Superstar” (LSDS), and the presentation of the Youth Engagement Award. Finally, the first U16 election results will also be announced.
The program will be hosted by “Teens Full of Ideas – Advisory Board at the Parkaue” and the Natur-Tierpark-Club youth recreation center.
For all children and teens ages 6 to 15, their accompanying adults, and educational professionals.
Teens and young adults over 15 are also welcome.
Admission is free!
