Piano Etudes from Claude Debussy to Unsuk Chin

In her carefully curated programs, Tamara Stefanovich often explores the development of musical forms from the 20th century to the present day.

After a concert featuring piano sonatas from Alban Berg to Pierre Boulez last season, she now focuses on the étude – a form that has long been more than just a finger exercise.

Since Debussy, at the latest, it has become an exciting field of experimentation for composers and performers. Stefanovich impressively demonstrates this with works from Scriabin to contemporary voices such as Unsuk Chin and Liza Lim.
