On the exclusion of “non-Aryan” members from the German Werkbund in 1933

With these words, architect Erich Mendelsohn was informed in November 1933 that he was no longer a member of the German Werkbund (DWB). Under the new National Socialist leadership, membership in the DWB was to be restricted to "people of Aryan descent."

The event takes place as part of the archive presentation "A Suppressed Chapter – The Werkbund in the Context of National Socialism." The focus is on the "non-Aryan" members of the DWB who were excluded from 1933 onward.
