Children's festival celebrating the Instrument of the Year with interactive concerts, quizzes and opportunities to try out instruments

The accordion is a real musical jack-of-all-trades. Whether jazz, classical, Balkan beats, klezmer or folk festivals – the sounds of the accordion always lift the mood!

It looks like a portable mini piano with keys on one side and buttons on the other. To coax sounds out of it, you need air: the bellows in the middle are squeezed together and pulled apart again when playing. Don't worry – the accordion is robust, practical and really fun to play.

And if all musical instruments were to hold a competition for the funniest nicknames, the accordion would have a good chance of winning first place. No wonder our Instrument of the Year is so popular!
