Berlin was already a popular travel destination in the past. The expansion of Berlin’s railway network beginning in the 1830s made it easier to travel to the growing industrial city.
The Object of the Month for July not only conveys an impression of the cityscape of that time but also offers insight into souvenir culture.
Collection Curator Valerie Fläming provides on-site information about the “Object of the Month”—a presentation in the salon of the Ephraim-Palais Museum that is free and open to the public on all days the museum is open. The rotating objects on display there showcase new acquisitions, offer insights into projects by the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin, or tell stories from Berlin’s past and present.
Note:
Continuously from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No advance registration required. Just drop by and join us!
Meeting point: Salon (ground floor)
