On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Melli Beese's death, a lecture event will be held at the Treptow Museum on Friday, January 30 2026, at 6 p.m. about the first German female pilot Melli Beese, her significance, and the history of her reception.
In her lecture, the museum's former director, Barbara Zibler, will talk about her extensive biographical research on Melli Beese and how it has shaped the memory of her in Treptow-Köpenick and beyond.
Starting on January 30, 2026, the creative works of fifth and sixth graders from the Melli Beese School will also be on display at the Treptow Museum. The students explored the life and work of the first German female pilot in their art classes and put their impressions on paper.
