On 17 May, we are celebrating International Museum Day. Admission is free, so we invite you to visit the open-air museum.

On May 17, the Düppel Museum Village will celebrate International Museum Day. With free admission, the museum village invites visitors to explore the open-air museum.

The seasonal open-air museum in Berlin’s Nikolassee district (Steglitz-Zehlendorf) offers adults and children a journey of discovery into the life, landscape, and rural culture of the Middle Ages.

The museum village is modeled after a medieval settlement from the years 1170 to 1220. The houses, village square, and gardens offer a glimpse into everyday medieval life in the countryside. During the season, they are built, maintained, and brought to life on weekends by the Förderverein Museumsdorf Düppel e.V.

Info:

International Museum Day will take place for the 49th time in 2026. Annually designated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for May 18, it will be celebrated in Germany this year on the third Sunday of the month. The aim of this event is to draw attention to museums and invite people to discover their diversity.
