Under this year’s theme, “Museums uniting a divided world,” the focus is on the turbulent history of French religious refugees as a model for an open and tolerant society.
As “bridge builders” between countries, religions, and cultures, the Huguenots had a lasting impact on the development of Berlin and Brandenburg. On this event day, the museum program will highlight their role as pioneers of cultural diversity and demonstrate how relevant their story of integration and new beginnings remains today.
A program for all generations
Between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., the museum offers a free program that appeals to both history enthusiasts and families:
Free guided tours: Public tours of the permanent exhibition will take place at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM (duration approx. 45 minutes, meeting point: Rotunda, limited to 20 participants).
Family Workshop: In a craft workshop for children and families (11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), participants can make seed balls and learn how the Huguenots revolutionized the Berlin diet by introducing plants such as asparagus, artichokes, and oranges.
Panoramic Platform: For visitors who wish to discover Berlin from above, the panoramic platform of the French Cathedral is accessible throughout the day with a special ticket for €4.50.
- Free admission – a sign of openness
