Special guided tour with Rudolf G. Scharmann, former director of Charlottenburg Palace

Glienicke Palace, located in the south-west of Berlin on the outskirts of Potsdam, was primarily shaped in the 19th century by the artistic collaboration between the builder Prince Carl of Prussia, the famous architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and the garden designer Peter Joseph Lenné. Less well known is the eventful history of the palace and its interior design in the 20th century.

The tour sheds light on the development from a princely summer residence through the turmoil of war and post-war and various other uses to the establishment of today's museum palace shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The tour with the former director of Charlottenburg Palace, Rudolf G. Scharmann, will also focus on individual works of art and the history of the collection.
