Sir Simon Rattle, Leitung
With a romantic repertoire by Robert Schumann, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and featuring violinist Isabelle Faust as soloist, will participate in the 2026 Berlin Music Festival—a premiere for this constellation at the Berlin Philharmonic. Playing historical instruments, they will explore the emotionally complex sound world of Schumann and reveal the roots of this brilliant Romantic composer.
The overture to Schumann's only opera, Genoveva, will open the concert, followed by his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D minor and Symphony No. 2.
