“There is one virtue that I love dearly. It is called obstinacy,” Hermann Hesse once wrote. Inspired by this, this evening is dedicated to the often-maligned quality of obstinacy, explored from unusual perspectives—melancholic, humorous, profound, and whimsical.

Texts by Hermann Hesse, Paul Watzlawick, Langston Hughes, Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger, and others—surprisingly relevant and, indeed, headstrong—presented by actress Kerstin Reimann, some in duet with Karsten Troyke.
The well-known singer of many Jewish songs will perform, among other things, poems by Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger and Hermann Hesse set to music by him, as well as new songs of his own, some of which will be performed together.
