Set against the backdrop of a panel discussion on childhood in Kreuzberg and its artistic representation – including in film – and a table tennis tournament taking place in parallel with youth centres in Kreuzberg, *16 GB: Table Tennis Table Politics* creates its own resonant space.
At the heart of the play are the siblings Andaç and Ceren, who are given a 16 GB memory card as a graduation present and are tasked with making a film. From this starting point, Zehra Sönmez develops a text about memory, family, visibility and social participation.
The table tennis table becomes a symbol of a public space where encounters, conflict and community emerge.
The staged reading presents selected excerpts from the author’s award-winning debut, which will have its world premiere in November 2026 at the Theater an der Parkaue.
