Cellist Idlir Shyti & Pianist Simone Tavoni

The audience can look forward to an evening of finely tuned musical dialogue when cellist Idlir Shyti and pianist Simone Tavoni perform at the Ballery Gallery on May 15, 2026, presenting the second concert of their European tour.

This special program promises an intimate journey through various styles, cultures, and eras, brought to life by the expressive interplay of cello and piano.

The program opens with the serene beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze” in an elegant arrangement for cello and piano, setting a contemplative mood for the evening.

The duo then turns to the poetic charm of Robert Schumann’s Five Pieces in Folk Style, which blend lyrical delicacy with folk-inspired expressiveness.

A special highlight of the concert is the performance of two Albanian folk songs, which add a personal and cultural touch and reflect the artists’ musical identity.

The program continues with the colorful sounds of Manuel de Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares Españolas, followed by the dramatic intensity of the Preludio from Giuseppe Verdi’s I Masnadieri.

Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Op. 21 No. 7 brings romantic depth, before the evening concludes with a passionate and modern finale featuring the impressive and rhythmically pulsating works of Astor Piazzolla—Oblivion and Gran Tango.

Admission is free, but donations are warmly welcomed.

Due to limited seating, reservations are strongly recommended to ensure your participation in this special concert experience.
