Introducing the ASH Master’s programme in ‘Biographical and Creative Writing’. With stories and performance – but not without performance.

Students and alumni offer insights into final dissertations and studies – and, not least, into the workings of this accredited programme, unique in Europe, which has been offered as a part-time Master’s programme at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin since 2006, combining pedagogical-didactic, therapeutic-counselling and literary artistic content into a conglomerate of interdisciplinary and applied science.

Carola Bachmann studied Romance languages with a focus on French-language literature, as well as art and art history in Berlin. During her studies, she contributed creatively to various exhibitions and projects within the ‘Experimental Music Theatre’ programme.

Tanja Gabriele Baudson, Professor of Psychology and a lifelong learner, writes, researches and teaches on talent, creativity and justice. She lives with her partner and two foster cats in Mühlheim am Main and works at the Charlotte Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden.

Kirsten Boysen works part-time as a secondary school teacher. However, she now sees herself primarily as a writer – with growing motivation and enthusiasm.

Ulrich Mill, born 1952, sociologist, retired, Berlin-Charlottenburg
What am I particularly interested in?: Living better without Nazis!

Vera Nahrath lives and works in the Hoher Fläming region, 80 km south-west of Berlin. She studied biographical and creative writing and social work at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. She primarily supports people in difficult life situations in her own practice. In future, she would like to help women* going through the menopause to write their own hero’s journey.

Annika Posselt lives in the beautiful Palatinate and has been working in human resources for a few years. I discovered my passion for language through keeping a diary and find it fascinating to explore and express personal experiences in creative writing.

Julia Reineke lives and works in Dresden. She is a doll-maker and has been studying biographical and creative writing since 2023. She runs doll-making courses and writing workshops for women*, and in December 2025 she founded a women’s* reading circle. For her Master’s thesis, she is developing a writing workshop on the theme of the menopause to bring new narratives on the subject into the world.
