Writing with a Camera: *Comando Ajax* by Cemile Sahin. Launch of the German novel in Spanish translation.

Cemile Sahin (1990) writes as if she were operating a camera. Her novel *Comando Ajax* has the perspective and the agile, lively pace of a film: a Kurdish wedding in Rotterdam. A sniper who opens fire during the wedding. The Korkmaz family: five brothers and one sister, a family split between the Netherlands, Kurdistan, and Berlin, for whom one day nothing will ever be the same again.

Yet this is no melodramatic family epic, but rather a gangster comedy, an action thriller, the story of a spectacular art heist. The story of a traitor, a tale of revenge, exile, love, and friendship. Told with empathy, power, political vision, and humor.

Cemile Sahin (1990 – Wiesbaden) is a writer and visual artist. Her work spans literature, film, photography, installation, and sculpture. She combines text and image with a narrative style shaped by a cinematic perspective. Media-savvy. Pop, poetic, political. Yet she never loses her sense of humor: satirical, absurd.

Post-migrant literature? No, exile literature, Sahin emphasizes. A literature that expresses her Kurdish family heritage. She has published the novels *Taxi* and *All Dogs Die*. *Comando Ajax* is her third novel, which was shortlisted for the 2025 Leipzig Book Award and is her first work to be translated into Spanish.
