Urban warfare, church asylum and work with the homeless - religion between politics and social mission in Kreuzberg
| Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche (Kreuzberg)
As part of the “Show me your world” project, we trained young adults from different religious and cultural backgrounds to become interreligious city guides. On the tour “It’s about life” Fatima and Andrea give you insights into this topic:
This tour wants to tell stories about people who have pushed themselves to the limits, supported by courage and desperation. We move thematically from the rehabilitation occupations of the 1980s to church asylum, to humanitarian aid and work with people without home.
These topics are particularly relevant today.
This tour deals with stories from people of different worldviews and beliefs. One thing unites them all: respect for other people's lives.
The tour begins in the Holy Cross Church, leads through the Jerusalem Cemetery to one of the first renovated houses in this part of Kreuzberg.
City guides: Fatima and Andrea
Meeting point: in front of the Holy Cross Church, Zossener Str. 65, 10961 Berlin
