Charmaine Poh, Deutsche Bank's 2025 Artist of the Year, studied Visual and Media Anthropology at the Free University of Berlin and is currently writing her doctoral dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Annette Jael Lehmann.

In a lecture organized by the Free University of Berlin in collaboration with MetaLAB (Harvard, Berlin, Basel), the artist will discuss the background of her current exhibition, "Make a journey deep of your inside, and don't forget me to take."
The work "Heavy is the root of light" is prominently displayed in the rotunda of the PalaisPopulaire and is also the first line of the Daoist text, the Dao De Jing. Starting with this, Charmaine Poh will explore the philosophical foundations of her work in her lecture.
In cooperation with the Free University of Berlin and MetaLAB Harvard.
The exhibition will be open before and after the lecture.
