With his distinctive thumb stroke, Waldi Weiz has developed a style all his own: direct, groovy and unmistakable. Nothing stands between him and his ‘beloved’, the guitar. When he touches the strings, he touches his audience at the same time.

His music moves effortlessly between funk and blues, country and jazz. But despite all his stylistic richness, he always has a clear motto: ‘The groove comes before the notes.’ He also chooses his musical companions according to this principle – and with his band, he has exactly the right partners at his side.


On 21 April 2026, Waldi Weiz will be performing with friends and long-time musical companions at the Maschinenhaus in the Kulturbrauerei, presenting a special concert programme: ‘The Best of Waldi Weiz’ – a musical journey through his most beautiful pieces, groovy moments and passionate blues.
