A woman facing death tells stories. The art of storytelling is the only thing that guides her through the labyrinth of her doom. In the stories she tells, they are most often tales that redeem a life.

Physics of Melancholy – Georgi Gospodinov

ZAI EL LILA is a musical puppet theater piece based on One Thousand and One Nights as its central concept, while also drawing on Georgi Gospodinov's reflections on the structure of Scheherazade's tales.

Working as a collective from diverse artistic disciplines, they consciously seek a common ground where their various technical languages converge. The piece's centerpiece is a labyrinth that each participant describes in their own medium: puppetry, dramaturgy, stagecraft, film, music, and movement.
