Industrial Heritage: from the ‘Island of Youth’ to the Osthafen

Berlin was once ‘built from a boat’ – nowhere is this felt more keenly than on the water. On this guided canoe tour, paddle from the Insel der Jugend to the Osthafen, once Berlin’s largest industrial harbour.

You’ll glide past a concrete jetty almost 500 metres long, the last remaining relic of the water boundary between East and West. You’ll also canoe over a submerged underground tunnel – a piece of transport history deep beneath the water.

You’ll experience further curiosities up close, from the front row, with your paddle in hand.

  • This tour is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.
