Garden Fair and Spring Festival with new highlights, premieres, and celebrity guests

Blooming rhododendrons, peonies in full bloom, tulips from around the world, and 100 exhibitors with ideas for gardens, patios, and balconies: Späth’s Nurseries is set to host the grand spring festival “Späth’er Frühling,” featuring numerous highlights, gardening premieres, prominent political figures, and new leadership.

Three young female managing directors will now lead Berlin’s oldest production company into the future. They will introduce themselves to the public at “Späth’er Frühling.”

NEW: Garden Pro Talk and Green Hands-On Forum

The Garden Pro Talk focuses on biodiversity and climate protection—and how each individual can contribute to green urban development, for example through sustainable plant watering.

At the green hands-on forum, visitors get involved themselves—at stations such as fruit tree pruning, balcony box planting, urban gardening, and tree pit planting in public areas.

NEW: Art Meadow in the Scheunenviertel and Reading Cart in the Green

Whether young or old—everyone is invited to the new art meadow in the Scheunenviertel on the Späth grounds to creatively explore nature with pen and brush. The Späth Nurseries are also launching a reading wagon in the green space as a new public Späth library.

During a guided tour of the open-air tree nursery museum, participants will take a journey through the company’s more than 300-year history. The Weltacker Berlin initiative for sustainable agriculture of the future invites you to take a walk through its field laboratory on the Späth grounds.

Monbijou Theater and Fairy Tales, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, and Live Music

The popular Monbijou Theater presents the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales for children in its own unique way in the Black Barn. Storyteller Ellen Luckas invites the little ones to experience the magic of fairy tales with music. Families can also explore the historic tree nursery grounds on horse-drawn carriage rides. Children can let their imaginations run wild during face painting. Live music creates a lively atmosphere and invites everyone to dance on the festival grounds.

Rhyming storyteller Theo Theodor entertains guests as company founder Christoph Späth with anecdotes. He skillfully hosts the stage program with rhymes.

Opening with Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner

At “Späth’er Frühling,” the three new managing directors take the stage: landscape architect Karoline Leu, horticultural engineer Susanne Schmohl, and Laura Lichtenheldt, who holds a degree in printing and media technology, will now be responsible for the various business divisions of Späth’s tree nurseries. With their experience, energy, and ingenuity, they are continuing the path set by senior boss Holger Zahn. At the opening, they welcome Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Kai Wegner, and Oliver Igel, the District Mayor of Treptow-Köpenick.

Spring Festival at Späth with 100 exhibitors

The “Späth’er Frühling” garden market is a spring festival featuring around 100 exhibitors, show gardens, and gardening tips, plant advice and horticultural highlights, arts and crafts and decorating ideas, culinary specialties, and unique items for home and yard, garden and kitchen. Visitors enjoy a weekend in the garden amidst the colorful splendor of spring.
