Opening of Our Outdoor Play Space

BAUBAU is heading outdoors! Just before the summer break begins, the new outdoor play area at the Gropius Bau is opening—free of charge and outdoors.

Under trees and sunshades, children can experiment with clay and other materials, get messy, and play freely in the pavilion in front of the Gropius Bau.

On Saturday, July 4, we’ll celebrate the opening starting at 10:00 a.m.—with a kids’ DJ set by Calamidades Lola from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and, of course, we’d love to have you there!

You can also buy homemade slush ice at a stand run by Restaurant Beba that day.

SommerBAUBAU was designed by artist Kerstin Brätsch and, weather permitting, invites you to play outdoors every day (except Tuesdays). If the weather forecast for a given day calls for inclement weather, we’ll move the activity indoors. Then our playworkers will welcome you, just as they have at BAUBAU, on the ground floor of the Gropius Bau.

By the way: You play in the clay without shoes. Please dress your little ones in clothes that can get dirty, and it’s best to bring a change of clothes.
