A playful introduction to sculpting

At the former Lichtenberg-Ost railway depot, Deutsche Bahn once repaired huge steam locomotives. Today, the site is home to artists who work and create in the B.L.O. studios.

The alabaster workshop is open to anyone who is passionate about natural stone as a material and would like to try their hand at figurative art.

Alabaster is a natural stone from Southern Europe. Using special rasps and files, you’ll transform a raw block of alabaster into a unique work of art. You’ll learn special techniques and create your own sculpture.

The workshop takes place outdoors under a sculptor’s pavilion. No prior experience is required.

  • The workshop is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.
  • Material costs are included in the participation fee (79 €).
