Rigoletto: “Deconstruction 21 – The Grand Anniversary”

The anniversary show on April 23, 2026, marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Palace of the Republic.

Rigoletti knows how to celebrate this most famous demolition project on the square just as well as the 15th anniversary of her one-person resistance project "Demolition 21."

Using film clips, images, sounds, found footage, and live performance, Rigoletti crafts a clever stage show in which the audience can bid on parts of the Humboldt Forum.

Since 2011, Rückbau21—aka Marion Pfaus, aka Rigoletti—has been collecting donations to tear down the new Berlin City Palace (Humboldt Forum) once again. The demolition of the Humboldt Forum is the logical continuation of the centuries-old tradition of demolition at Berlin’s Schlossplatz and will culminate in 2050 with the Grand Anniversary Palace Demolition as a Facebook party that already has 2,500 registrations.
