On the occasion of International Women's Day, the themed tour is dedicated to the question of how women as philosophers, artists, scientists or activists have dealt with nature and shaped the understanding of nature in different contexts?

Hildegard von Bingen's concept of green power and Maria Sibylla Merian's drawings are prominent examples of how the female approach to nature has shaped social and cultural discourse and scientific developments.

Miniatures from the Scivias Codex, Lina Morgenstern's commitment to the kindergarten, a painting by the artist Lotte Laserstein or film documents of the early anti-nuclear movement can be used to trace the preoccupation with nature and its interaction with society. It also raises the question of whether there is a connection between an understanding of nature and gender role models.
