Exhibition: MOSAiC - One year in Arctic sea ice

MOSAiC is the largest Arctic expedition of all time
logistically, measured by the number of participants and the number of
nations involved.

Hardly any other region has warmed as much as the Arctic in recent decades. Since satellite observations began, summer sea ice cover has almost halved. One aim of the expedition is to gain a better understanding of atmospheric-ice-ocean processes and the influence of the Arctic on the global climate. MOSAiC will therefore be a milestone for climate research.

Research in the seemingly endless expanses of the polar regions has always fascinated artists. Zones of eternal ice cause spatial delimitation that is both frightening and fascinating.
With the art project "eingefroren" of the gallery Forum Amalienpark not only works of art are to be exhibited, but with readings, lectures and a live connection to the research station on Spitsbergen the connections between art and polar research are to become alive in the personal exchange.

Participating artists are: Martin Enderlein, Ellen Fuhr, Günter Fuhr, Annette Gundermann, Kerstin Heymach, Dorothee H. Jacobs, Julika Müller, Thomas K. Müller
