In this online workshop you will be introduced to the Citizen Science Toolkit senseBox and the corresponding online world map, the openSenseMap. With the senseBox you can easily build an intelligent weather station and become part of a nationwide research project.

Together, data will be collected, interpreted and discussed. What does "open data" mean for political participation and social development? Using the JavaScript programming language, live data from an environmental phenomenon at a specific location is visualized from the openSenseMap. This way, the meaning behind abstract numerical values is explored and made visible.
