Gabriele Chiteala and Angelika Pleger, two sisters, discovered a genuine historical document in the estate of their mother, who passed away in 2010: the brigade logbook of the HO restaurant Parkschloss in Berlin-Buch, where their mother had worked.

What may sound dry at first glance turned out to be a treasure trove of quirky, lovingly observed and sometimes unintentionally comic stories from everyday life under socialism.

With warmth and humor, the sisters read a selection of the most entertaining and curious entries from 1972 to 1975. The reading is accompanied by recorded music and live-sung hits from the era, historical context and satirical commentary. A journey through time filled with personal memories of a country that no longer exists.
