Cuban-German History in GDR and FRG - 1964 until today
Until 1989, around 30,000 Cubans came to the GDR to work, study or receive training. In the temporary exhibition, ten women, men and their children talk about everyday life in the socialist GDR.
How do they experience work and school, how do friendships and new loves develop? The peaceful revolution in the fall of 1989 is an incisive event for them, as are the 1990s, which were marked by racism and nationalism.
Films, video interviews, photos and personal mementos bring their stories to life and illuminate a migrant perspective on East German history.
